Ixie was a valuable help in narrowing down my direction for the installment.¬†For this exhibition installment I have contributed an 11×14″ gouache, ¬†acrylic and ink painting titled “The Late Mr. Harrington”.

The Late Mr Harrington _sm

This piece makes a nod to one of my favourite and first Burton films, Edward Scissorhands. When I considered the theme as The Colorful Show, the other Burton film that came to mind was his interpretation of Alice in Wonderland. The striking visuals stand out for me about that film, and seem as though he filled Wonderland with a dark brilliance. This is something I wanted to tap into for a contribution to Distinction Gallery.

The Exhibition opens April 11th, with reception from 6-10pm. For exhibition inquiries, please contact melissa@distinctionart.com Thank you for looking!

I took inspiration from a horror game series I’ve been enjoying immensely since last summer, Five Nights At Freddy’s. While not an exact recreation, I’ve had creepy homicidal animatronics on the brain!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Also for Twisted Mickey is a 4×6″ Oil on Wood panel painting “Hide And Squeak”. I was keen to paint a more realistic mouse version too- Mickey’s version of being a real mouse.
