Feminamorphe 2 Exhibition is here! The wonderful Candie Bolton and myself curated a bang-up roster of fabulously skillful female artists to contribute to this installment of Feminamorphe at Wootbear Gallery. Lots of beautiful new 2D and 3D works will be available and on display through Wootbear in San Francisco, CA. Opening night is Feb 25th, if you are in town, definitely swing through!
I’ve contributed several painted toys to this year’s Feminamorphe exhibition, including “Koibito” the Kidrobot Micro Munny, a custom 3″ dunny “Peepers”, and “Koneko-Chan” painted Cherri Polly Nenne sofubi.
Pieces will range in price from $85-140 and be available directly through Wootbear! For this showing, I’ve also painted a Candie Bolton x Toy Art Gallery Bakekujira Sofubi figure. These big beautiful bake-babies stand nearly 12″ tall. This colorway I titled “Ochidono” is a 1-of piece painted in acrylics and oils. It will be available through Wootbear Gallery Feb 25th.
Thank you to everyone who visited and supported me and Deth Becomes You at our DesignerCon 2015 booth! We so appreciate the support, and the outstanding contributions to make this show the best DCon I’ve had yet. DBY debuted several new resin toys and original sculpted pieces. They were wonderful to see, even if there were few survivors to tell the tale.
Thank you to friends and fans who visited and took home new pieces, sketches and visited to catch up. It was a blast!
Thanks very kindly to artisan Diane McAmis for the beautiful necklace chains, and to friends and supporters who contributed support to our showing, brought gifts, Diet Coke, and made the weekend such a wonderful time.
Some bagged resin toys and original painted pieces are now available online here. Thank you for your support!
Kidrobot San Francisco is feeling Trikky – bringing together a group of varied artists from across North America for “Hello Trikky” exhibition opening Oct 3. If you’re in the San Francisco area, definitely swing through their storefront location for a fun opening event.
I’ve contributed a 7″ custom Trikky inspired by Cheshire Cat, one of my favourite creepy characters, titled “Can You Stand On Your Head?” – He can!
Cheshire Cat has long since been one of my earliest favourite fictional characters. He’s a pretty benign character, and is helpful to Alice while she’s in Wonderland- but doesn’t seem to go out of his way very much. And that always creeped me out a little, and gave me the impression Cheshire Cat had a darker or indeterminable quality to his alignment.
Swing through Kidrobot San Francisco Friday, October 3rd to view this piece and many others up close on opening night!
